Monographs

CADRE has participated in the development of several monographs, each providing valuable information on a specific topic related to diabetes and its treatment and complications.

This monograph addresses the barriers to successful achievement of glycemic goals in difficult-to-treat patients with diabetes. This group includes adult patients who fail to achieve recommended glycemic targets, and children and adolescents whose diabetes treatment regimens are complicated by age, metabolic factors, and issues of compliance.

CE credit available until December 31, 2007.

CADRE and the AADE partnered to develop this monograph, which examines the relationship between the nurse educator, dietitian, and physician and shows how these professionals can cooperate to help patients make choices that will enable them to achieve optimal blood glucose levels.

A collaboration between the Council for the Advancement of Diabetes Researach and Education (CADRE) and The Endocrine Society, this monograph summarizes current research regarding the etiology of type 2 diabetes, examines the mechanisms behind beta-cell dysfunction, and discusses possible strategies for halting this process. It also examines the rationale for using exogenous insulin earlier in diabetes treatment to achieve near-normoglycemia and minimize complications.
